EFL chairman Rick Parry has admitted that it seems likely that the season will continue behind closed doors, with talks underway to broadcast every game in the Football League in some capacity.
That was revealed in an open letter sent to every one of the 71 clubs across the three divisions, although they obviously can’t commit to a return date yet as people wait to see how this plays out. It has been suggested previously that players could return to training on May 16, with a possible return a month later.

Is it important that the Championship season plays to a finish?
Yes
No
That’s got fans talking and it’s fair to say that it prompted a mixed reaction from Queens Park Rangers supporters. Mark Warburton’s side are currently in the bottom half of the Championship but they are only six points away from the play-off places with nine games left to play this season.
Despite that, there were calls from some for the campaign to be voided, whilst others debated about when fans may be allowed to return to the stadium. Here we look at some of the comments…
This season never happened

Just wait until supporters can attend. No point without supporters. Plus I’ve already paid for my tickets! I don’t think you can legally sell tickets to an event, put the event on, then not let people with tickets attend the event!

With all this social distancing I don’t see us being allowed back into the stadiums until next year, even after the lockdown ends we will still have to social distance to stop a 2nd wave happening.

Fair comments. He can’t make decisions at this stage, it’s all still uncertain.

Start in March next year at the exact point it was suspended. Finish the current season, start the next in August 2021. We lose a year and carry on. Roll on expired contracts by 12 months and we are sorted (more or less).
