QPR have entered the race to sign Peterborough United striker Ivan Toney, a report from The Daily Record has claimed.
Toney enjoyed an outstanding campaign for the Posh prior to the abandonment of the 2019/20 League One season, scoring 24 goals in 32 league appearances.
Subsequently, the striker has perhaps not surprisingly been attracting plenty of attention in recent months, and the latest reports have now claimed that QPR have become the latest team to register a desire to secure the services of the 24-year-old for the coming campaign.
It is also thought that Brighton and Brentford are monitoring the situation around Toney, while Scottish champions Celtic have reportedly already seen a £5million bid for the striker rejected.
Taking to Twitter to react to those rumours, many QPR fans were sceptical as to whether the club will be able to bring a player such as Toney to The Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, although others were understandably keen to see the deal happen.
Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.
There’s no way in the world that we’ll splash out in excess of £5M on a striker… it ain’t happening people…😢
