We really are starting to get down to the bare bones right now.
With only four centre-backs now on the books, and with Mark Warburton sounding as if he’s not entirely sure what he’s going to do with Conor Masterson, it may not have been the best move to allow in the grand scheme of things.
The club confirmed yesterday that defender Toni Leistner had joined German club FC Koln on loan until the end of the season. With the emergence of someone like Masterson in recent games, something was obviously going to have to give when it came to the position, and rather than let him sit on the bench or compete for a spot.
Well the news of his departure didn’t go down entirely well with the QPR faithful, as they tore into the board for letting the German defender go, which you can kind of understand. With the club currently holding the third-worst defensive record in the division, it seems that selling defenders isn’t exactly the best way to go.
Dear oh dear.. what a shambles we really are.

It’s like Austerity but enforced by FFP. We have make do. Hands are tied nothing the board or the gaffer can do about it. He has to use what’s at his disposal. #QPR

Was letting Leistner go a mistake?

No
Let’s see if they can fix that problem in the last remaining hours of the window.
