Word On The Tweet

‘Joke of a club’, ‘Poundshop club’ – Many QPR fans react as Nahki Wells posts Instagram message

|

Lots of QPR fans have responded on Twitter after former QPR forward Nahki Wells posted one final message on Instagram to supporters.

The Bermudian striker was the top scorer at Loftus Road this season recording 13 goals, but after Burnley recalled him to the club they weren’t able to sign him permanently, with the player signing for Bristol City.

Within the message – which you can read in the attached tweet below – the forward says thanks to the club and Mark Warburton for sticking by him after a ‘mediocre’ season last year.

He will be running out at Loftus Road on Saturday, though, just this time in a red shirt as he plays for Lee Johnson’s side, which will no doubt be a difficult one for fans to watch.

According to the BBC, the Robins will be paying £5m for the 29-year-old – a fee which could well have been deemed too much for the club after CEO Lee Hoos stated that, despite being interested, they would face troubles signing him due to constraints from Financial Fair Play.

Would you like to see Troy Parrott sign?

Yes, get him in

No thanks

QPR tweeted out the post by Wells with a blue heart, to which there was a pretty mixed response.

Some fans said some heartfelt messages to the forward, while others criticised the club for not being able to keep the player where he is.

Here are some of the replies below…

Whether QPR will target another forward today is yet to be seen. There have been talks in recent days about signing Troy Parrott on loan after reports suggest that Lawrence Shankland will be staying at Dundee United, but only time will tell as to whether a new goalscorer will be coming through the door at the club.
