I suppose it’s good to see the positive in things rather than the negative.
If only I shared their levels of optimism.
So QPR’s defeat to Reading on Boxing Day left Mark Warburton’s side pretty much in the definition of mid-table obscurity. Meaning that they’re too far away from both the top six and the bottom three to really be called a contender for either battle.
And perhaps the fact that they’re probably not going to be fighting for anything as the season goes on that meant a number of QPR fans weren’t exactly too disappointed with the result. Indeed, rather than get angry at losing, they decided to put the game simply down to a case of bad luck.
When you look at the statistics of the game, it was a pretty evenly matched affair, with QPR just edging it in terms of possession and total shots, so perhaps they have a point.
Most of you lot need to have another drink. We deserved at least a point.

better team lost. So unlucky tonight.

QPR were unlucky. We were the better team and deserved a positive result. Hugill unlucky several times – once the keeper saved with his face. Eze unlucky too. Amos played well. Defence was solid too – although bit worried about our right back position.

hard luck lads, definitely didn’t deserve to lose that game.

Beyond me how we could lose this. How many more good chances do we need to score? Hugill alone could have won us this game.

Where will QPR finish this season?
Promoted
Top 6
Top Half
Bottom Half
However you do wonder if they’ll still be putting it down to ‘luck’ if these kinds of results keep piling up as the season goes by, or if fans are going to start putting the blame on the players and manager instead of just fate.
