Vital QPR assesses tomorrow’s opponents – Burton Albion
THE LATEST
Burton Albion are at a pivotal point in the current season. Despite a strong enough start their form has waned somewhat – couple that with manager Nigel Clough has been linked with a return to Nottingham Forest and there is a recipe for something so fruitful to turn very sour.
It is still without question still an incredibly story and things are far from settled yet when it comes to the race to stay in the Championship. A damning home defeat to Wigan Athletic however forms part of a run that has seen them lost eight times in nine games in all competitions.
All the losses have been slender however – with Clough attempting to bolster his strike force to give the Brewers an edge in the relegation battle. Marvin Sordell and Luke Varney have come through the door at the Pirelli, while Luke Murphy joins on loan from Leeds United.
If Clough was to go it could prove a tempting offer for either Gary Rowett or Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink – more likely the latter, with both out of work since leaving Birmingham City and QPR respectively. It`s not the end of the road for Albion, but it’s going to be a long, hard slog to retain their deserved Championship status.
