“We Fought & Scrapped” – Eustace Pleased With Improved QPR Efforts

|

Caretaker manager John Eustace continued in his role for tonight’s Championship clash between Queens Park Rangers and Millwall at The Den.

Having lost his first game in charge comprehensively 4-0, Eustace would’ve been hoping for a far better reaction from the players in tonight’s outing.

After a goalless first half that saw QPR dominate chances, but the hosts the ball, we were hoping to see that continue in the second period but with a better end product.

Whilst we still created over double by the end than they did, each side only managed three registered efforts on target and the game petered out into a scoreless draw with the points on the day shared.

From our perspective, at least it was a point and not another defeat but we’d have been hoping for far more.

Take the small positives we can and look for better once again.

Speaking to the BBC following the fulltime whistle, Eustace explained about the performance.

“I’m delighted with the point, especially after conceding four goals on Saturday. For 90 minutes we fought and scrapped. You know what you’re going to get when you come here and the lads stood up to that. The players that came in today really freshened it up. You can see the squad is together and they wanted to make amends for Saturday’s result. We want to get as many points as we can before the end of the season and it’s important we show the same spirit as we did today.”
