More Names In The QPR Manager Frame – With Mixed Reactions From QPR Fans

|

Despite buildup to tonight’s Championship clash with Millwall being well underway, it was in many ways a quiet news day for Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday.

What talk there was centered around our ongoing managerial search following the decision to sack Steve McClaren the other week, and there were a few names being mentioned in press reports compared to the usual pack fans had recently become more accustomed to.

Two of those new names were Nigel Pearson and Steve Cotterill with West London Sport claiming that firm talks had been held with both men about the vacant job.

Their report did mention Gary Rowett, Mark Warburton and Michael Appleton as front-runners, but Tim Sherwood was again namechecked as Les Ferdinand’s preferred option for the job, stating it was his to turn down.

Marc Bircham was also mentioned, and by Tuesday night Sky Sports were claiming he was now ‘in line’ for the position after a recent interview and his ties to the club are obvious.

It seemed they too thought Sherwood was still in pole-position though, although Darren Moore was given a clear namecheck in their report.

Fans were certainly torn on the names now being linked, and you can see those comments by clicking on the above Tweet.
