It’s amazing what one game can do to the narrative of the January transfer window.
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about Conor Masterson and Mark Warburton’s plans for him during the window, and how it would be beneficial for him to go out on loan and get some experience, perhaps at a League One club, something that a few QPR fans agreed with me on.
However, after his display against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, would it be too farfetched for me to suggest that maybe if he were to get more minutes in the next couple of months, that it could be in the first-team?
It certainly might be the case if these Queens Park Rangers fans had their say on the matter.
After he was given the Man of the Match award from the club, there were plenty of fans who swarmed to social media to throw their support behind the 21-year-old, with many of them saying that he needed to be kept at the club rather than sent out on loan.
He was brilliant yesterday, first to everything. Great to see a strong, young CB!

Masterson or bright for me but masterson looked really good on the ball will be hard for toni and barbet to get there place back if he keeps playing like that

What a performance, solid as a rock at the back yesterday, looked unbeatable. We’ve got a player on our hands… #QPR #QPRLEE

Kelly & Masterson should be on that team sheet for every game including Saturday against Sheffield Wednesday. #QPR

Connor Masterson has played one and a half games of league football for #QPR and is yet to concede a goal. Against Brentford and Leeds. The most impressive part? He has genuinely looked like the best defender in doing so 👏

We’d be far better with kelly and masterson than lumley and leistner

Would you like to see Masterson sent on loan to develop?
Yes
No
I wonder if Warburton is going to take their advice and let him stick around for a little bit longer.
