He has certainly left an impression on the fanbase.
Just a shame that it looks like it’ll be the last time we see him this season, as according to reports, QPR boss Mark Warburton plans to ship him out on loan for the rest of the season to help him develop. Although in the long-run, that’s probably the best thing for him, so I’m not going to get too upset about it.
I’m talking of course about young defender Conor Masterson, who made his debut for QPR in the cup thrashing of Swansea City on the weekend. After the game, he spoke to the club website about what it meant to finally make his debut and how special it was to make it on such a great occasion:
“It was a long time coming but it was an unbelievable feeling. To win 5-1, the crowd, the atmosphere, it was brilliant. I am buzzing right now.”
And he isn’t the only one that’s buzzing, as QPR fans swarmed to social media to praise him for his display, with many under the impression that he is going to be a mainstay in the team for a long time to come.
Go on conor, great debut 👍

Send him to a league one team where he’ll get regular gametime, will be the best for his development

Hopefully the first of many to come. Well done to Conor and all the debutants on Saturday. Brilliant result.

Would you like to see Masterson sent on loan to develop?
Yes
No
Even if it does require a slight detour to someone else for the rest of the campaign.
