QPR receive boost as 22-year-old admits that he “would love to stay” – Report

|

The good news just keeps coming doesn’t it?

Not only have QPR found their goal-scoring boots, with eleven goals in the past two games, but it looks as if one of the club’s most talented players look set to stay at the club for the foreseeable future.

Bright Osayi-Samuel has made a significant mark on the QPR team this season, predominantly through his goal against Birmingham City, which will most certainly be among the contenders for goal of the season when the campaign comes to an end in May. Beyond that though, he has helped the Hoops keep at a steady pace throughout the season, contributing with five goals and four assists in all competitions.

And if he has anything to say about it, he’ll be getting plenty more opportunities to contribute going forward. Even though his contract expires at the end of the season, the club do have the option of extending it for another.

Speaking to The Kilburn Times, Osayi-Samuel explained that although he is just focusing on his football, he would love to stay at Loftus Road beyond the end of his current deal:

“I don’t know. Obviously I would love to stay but I’m just focused on playing games. I let the contracts and stuff like that be solved with my agent and the club. I just want to keep playing and see what happens.”

Hopefully they can get everything sorted before it’s too late though.

As much as he says he wants to stay, with only six months left on his current deal, and even with that added year, that doesn’t offer a lot of wiggle room when it comes to negotiating if another team were to come calling for his services in the transfer window.

Was Osayi-Samuel's goal the best of the season so far?

Yes

No

Just like I said with Eberechi Eze, the sooner that they can get things organised, the sooner that everyone will know exactly what’s going on.
