Premier League poacher, 20, wanted despite strong Championship interest – report

|

QPR are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah on loan after his loan spell was cut short at Leeds United.

Despite showing some glimpses of brilliance at Elland Road, he simply wasn’t seen as getting enough game time by the Arsenal hierarchy, therefore he has been called back, with it being very likely to move on loan again this month.

West London Sport has reported that they have made contact with Arsenal for Nketiah, however, the chances of him joining look pretty bleak as they have indicated that he is probably going to move elsewhere.

It was generally assumed that Bristol City would be the club who managed to secure him for the second half of the season, but nothing has yet been confirmed, which means that he is still available to everyone – and you can guarantee there will be some other clubs trying to get their hands on him.

With Leeds doing so well so far this season they simply haven’t been able to give him the game time which Arsenal feel he needs and deserves. Patrick Bamford has been leading the line this season to great effect, which has meant he has had to settle for bit-part appearances.

Would you like us to sign Wells permanently?

Yes

No

So far this season, he has made just one start for Leeds in the league despite 16 appearances overall, as well as two starts in the cup. Overall, he has shown some of his finishing pedigree by managing five goals so far this campaign, however, Bamford seems to have been favoured for his all-round ability.

Would he fit in at QPR? Well, there’s no doubt he could bring goals to the side with his finishing ability, though the club are already harvesting a fair few loanees – especially forwards. With Jordan Hugill, Nakhi Wells and Jan Mlakar all on loan from the Premier League as well, they might be better off getting a longer-term target, or at least getting one or two of them off the books first.
