Nedum Onuoha has stated that it is the right time in his career to move to Queens Park Rangers.

The 25-year-old defender penned a four-and-a-half year deal at Loftus Road earlier today (Thursday) and will once again work with Mark Hughes.

He told QPR.co.uk that it was perfect timing to join QPR and was impressed with the ambition of the club and manager.

He said: ‘This was the right time for me to join a club like QPR.

‘The Manager obviously played a massive factor in my decision to come here. I’ve worked with him before and he always wants players around him who are open and honest.

‘He wouldn’t have come here if he didn’t believe that there was a squad of players here that can achieve the goals he has.

‘The ambition of the owners was really appealing.

‘This is my club now and I’ll give everything to help us succeed.’

The versatile defender can play anywhere across the back four, a key reason for his signature according to boss Mark Hughes.

He becomes QPR’s second signing this week, following in the footsteps of AC Milan loanee Taye Taiwo.
