“I Was Really Disappointed” – Eustace On QPR Problems After Heavy Defeat

|

Queens Park Rangers were under the caretaker charge of John Eustace for today’s early kickoff against Championship leaders Norwich City as they welcomed us to Carrow Road.

With significantly poor form seeing the Board make a decision on the future of gaffer Steve McClaren, this was always going to be an incredibly tricky game for us to get through and come out with a positive result to aid our own concerns.

Six minutes was all it took for the table toppers to open the scoring, and six minutes after that they doubled their advantage. A further effort seven minutes from the half time break gave them a comfortable 3-0 lead.

Despite going down to ten men as Emi Buendia saw a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Josh Scowen, the game fizzled out rather than us getting a second wind, and ultimately they added a fourth to secure the points.

Speaking to Sky Sports following the fulltime whistle, a disappointed Eustace explained.

“It was a tough afternoon. I was really disappointed with the way we started the game. We changed the shape at half-time and were more competitive but we are a bit low on confidence at the moment and you could probably see that.”
