“Great Window” – These QPR Fans React To Final Signing Of Deadline Day

|

With speculation on Thursday suggesting that Queens Park Rangers had gone back in to try and do a deal with Burnley for familiar face Nahki Wells, we did in fact, get a loan deal over the line for him prior to the deadline slamming shut.

Having scored nine times for us in 43 appearances in the 2018/19 campaign, 29-year-old Wells returns to Loftus Road on another season long loan deal from Turf Moor and he admitted to the Official Site that it was a no brainer once he knew of our interest.

“It’s great to be back. I’m extremely excited to get my head down and play some football. I think everyone knows how much the club means to me and once the opportunity arose I was always going to come back. I went back to Burnley with the full intention of trying to get into the first team. That hasn’t transpired so I had to accept that. I am thankful the opportunity has presented itself to return. I feel I have some unfinished business and still have a lot to offer so I want to get my head down and focus.”

He was also pretty confident that the fans hadn’t yet seen the best of him given his performances last season, and that’s something he’s looking to put right this year under manager Mark Warburton.

“They have only seen sparks of what I am capable of. They didn’t see it enough and now I have the opportunity to right those wrongs.”

Fans were certainly happy with his return given the reaction to the confirmation last night on social media. Let’s hope this spell he proves to be far more productive as we all win then.
