Eustace Remains For Millwall As QPR Whittle Down New Manager Shortlist

|

Following on from the sacking of Queens Park Rangers manager Steve McClaren, it’s been reported this week that although the Board have shrunk the shortlist to five potential new gaffer’s, no decision will be taken ahead of Wednesday evening’s midweek clash with Millwall.

The Evening Standard reported on Monday that our search for a successor now sees a shortlist featuring former Tottenham interim gaffer Tim Sherwood, Wycombe Wanderers’ Gareth Ainsworth, Charlton’s Lee Bowyer, former Blackburn Rovers gaffer Michael Appleton and Rui Almeida, who is in charge of French Ligue 2 side Troyes.

They are however confident that negotiations won’t be concluded ahead of our trip to The Den on Wednesday night, however, a decision may now be made ahead of the weekend’s hosting of Swansea City at Loftus Road next Saturday.

Almeida certainly seems like a left field idea and it’s the first time I’ve seen him linked with the job, but maybe we’ll soon find out.
