Mark Robins has moved fast to make his first additions to the Barnsley squad with no fewer than three players joining this week.
Slovenia international defender Suad Filekovic has joined the Tykes on a short-term deal subject to international clearance.
He has plied his trade with several clubs on the continent including Hajduk Split, while getting 14 international caps to his name.
Robins has also raided Premier League Stoke City for a duo of emergency loan deals, also aimed at bolstering the defensive unit.
Carl Dickinson is a solid full back that can also play in the centre of defence. The 22-year-old defender played a useful part in the Potters’ promotion and also keeping them in the Premier League.
The other defender is Ryan Shotton from Stoke City, he comes with a great experience in the lower leagues with Altrincham and Tranmere Rovers.
