Select Group 2 official, Mr Kavanagh of Lancashire travels across the border to oversee the fixture between Queens Park Rangers and their hosts, Sheffield Wednesday.
A relative newcomer to Championship football – Mr Kavanagh joined what was the National List in 2014 before meeting QPR for the first time in 2015, against promotion-chasers Middlesbrough.
Hasselbaink’s men fought hard but succumbed to a last minute spot kick from Boro with Grant Leadbitter earning the three points for the eventually promoted outfit. He took charge of Rangers earlier on this campaign too – in a clash with newly-promoted Wigan Athletic the details of which are below.
Thus far this season in 11 fixtures, Mr Kavanagh has dished out 32 yellow cards – averaging 2.91 cards per game.
