QUEENS Park Rangers Kieron Dyer is the surprising recipient of a new one year contract at Loftus Road.

For a man that has been portrayed a a ruthless businessman, Tony Fernandes has surprised QPR fans by sanctioning an extension to Kieron Dyer’s contract.

The midfielder managed to get minutes into the season before it came to an abrupt conclusion on the opening day. Judging by his injury record and Rangers financial purse strings being tightened at the time it was placed down to a gamble that didn’t pay off.

Surprising therefore that Dyer signed an extension to his terms without so much of a whimper. Is this ill-guided sympathy from the top brass and what is now to become of the midfielder that just about everyone had written off.

Your views are as always welcomed. Have QPR made a calculated gamble or a grave error in judgement? Let us know!
