Sunderland are considering loaning out striker Daryl Murphy to Queens Park Rangers until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has failed to impress fellow Ireland compatriot and Black Cats boss Roy Keane following a string of less than average performances for the Premier League side.

Daryl has featured in 12 league games this season but has failed to score in any of them.

It was in October that the Republic of Ireland forward was linked with a loan move to fellow Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers however, the deal failed to materialise.

The 6’3′ striker initially signed a five-year deal from club side Waterford in the summer of 2005 for a tidy sum of £100,000 however, should the club decide to cut their losses and sell the promising international Rangers could expect to pay in the region of £2.5 million for his services.
