Leicester City’s victory at Reading this evening has seen QPR drop from a playoff place.

Rangers moved into the playoffs with their win over Derby on Saturday evening, but Leicester have staged a snatch and grab at the Madejski Stadium to jump to fifth this evening.

The only goal of the game came against the run of play with loanee Martyn Waghorn glancing home from a corner after some poor Royals marking.

It could have been very different had Reading taken their countless opportunities, but Leicester’s organisation saw them through against Rodgers’ side whose torrid home run continues.

All this means that should Leicester defeat QPR at Loftus Road on Friday night they go joint top with leaders Newcastle United.

Rangers meanwhile will be looking to reassert their playoff credentials against Pearson’s men lying a point and two places behind them in the table.

Skipper Matt Oakley admitted that they face a tough task against QPR on Friday, but if their strike players perform they have a chance.
