A STRONG Queens Park Rangers side overcame neighbours Brentford in a useful work out for the fringe players.

Both Fitz Hall and Gareth Ainsworth stepped up their recovery from a groin injury and tendonitis respectively but it was a fellow fringe player that picked up the winning goal.

Patrick Agyemang has only played a handful of times this season primarily from the bench but it was the former Preston man that notched the winning goal at the Recreation Ground.

In an evenly fought game the striker had the class to finish from close range after reacting to Ainsworth’s knock-down from Ed Harris’ free kick.

It was a timely reminder to manager Magilton of Agyemang’s ability as he hopes to once again be included in the squad to face his former side on Saturday.
