Report: QPR have the upper hand in reported transfer, they have to use it to their advantage

|

So we’ve had one man confirmed out the door.

And it looks like we could be set for another departure this week, and what makes it worse is that it could involve a QPR player making the same journey up to the northwest.

According to a report from journalist Alan Nixon, Burnley are set to be taking an interest in QPR’s young midfielder Bright Osayi-Samuel. This follows on from the Clarets yesterday recalling Nahki Wells from his loan spell in West London.

In an odd way, it’s somewhat lucky that these two clubs happen to be going head to head in a transfer negotiation so soon, because the situation actually plays somewhat to our advantage. CEO Lee Hoos spoke in the aftermath of the departure of Wells and he said that the club would do everything that they can to get him back.

So if Burnley do indeed want to take Osayi-Samuel from us, then part of the negotiation should include the possibility of Wells coming the other way, and would it be too much to ask that it be a player + cash deal?

If they are so desperate to bring him on board, then we need to make sure that we can get every single thing we can out of the deal, and bringing back our top-scorer this season seems like a no brainer.

And if they aren’t willing to let him go, then they don’t get to take Osayi-Samuel. It really is as simple as that.

Who would you rather have?

Osayi-Samuel

Wells

So we firmly hold the upper hand when it comes to all of this, let’s just hope that those upstairs do the right thing and make sure, whether or not there’s any movement, that the club manages to get the best outcome possible.
