DEFENDER Peter Ramage is set to be offered a new one-year-deal at Loftus Road.

The 27-year-old saw the vast majority of last season wiped out owing to a cruciate ligament injury – but Neil Warnock is set to offer him an extension to his current deal.

Speaking to the Ealing Gazette, Ramage spoke of his hope that a deal is finalised over the coming weeks.

He stated: ‘They’ve verbally offered me something and the gaffer has told me that he’d like to keep me on, but obviously the gaffer has a lot of work on in the summer to strengthen the squad for the Premier League.

‘Definitely good vibes so far though, with my agent talking to Gianni Paladini the other day and he expressed a desire to offer me a one-year contract too, so hopefully we can sit down and thrash something out in the next few weeks.’

The defender has certainly won supporters over during his spell at Loftus Road, with his committed approach and overall passion for the game.

He will now look to build on the 68 appearances he has made for the R’s as well as his two goals against Lancashire duo Blackpool and Preston North End.

Ramage will undoubtedly be looking out for boyhood club Newcastle United when the fixtures are released, and hopes to be a QPR player when the club travel to St James Park.
