The soap opera that is QPR continues. After the FA hearing, we hoped we would finally get some stability at the club but 3 weeks later, here we are, in yet another scandal. The word I keep hearing regarding the owners is ‘greedy’. How dare Bernie and Flavio try and raise the prices for loyal QPR fans to above 40% per season ticket? How greedy can these 2 men get? Seriously who do they think they are?
Oh wait, they are the majority owners of QPR. For those of you with a short term memory, they have been sustaining the club for 3 years now. They are the men that took our club from deep in debt and dead last in the championship (with the possibility of heading in the direction of Luton) to the promised land. Has everyone forgotten when we said we would give anything to be in the premier league?
Who are we to complain 2 men not investing their hard earned money in their business, when we, QPR fans, complain about spending our hard earned money on QPR? This is a club a lot of us claim to love. If you love the club, surely, you should be happy to pay towards the success about the club before you expect anyone else to do so.
Yes, it is a shame that we have to spend a lot more money to watch 19 games (half of which we should expect to lose) but that is the price we have to pay for our success. It is a shame that we live in a world that we expect to receive without giving anything back but the reaction of some of our fans has been disappointing. Can we really call them greedy when our own reactions stink of greed?
