QPR Make Sandro Statement

Queens Park Rangers have denied that Sandro has left QPR – yet

The telling statement on qpr.co.uk states that the 27-year-old Brazilian is on his way to Turkish outfit Antalyaspor, but the paperwork has not been finalised.

Keen to clarify why they hadn’t announced the transfer and indeed why the Turkish club had, the club made the following statement:

‘Until the Turkish club provide the fully executed transfer documents, we are unable to submit the requisite documents to the EFL and FA to complete the transfer.’

It does appear however that Rangers are close to offloading one of the club’s highest earners after a mere 28 appearances in two-and-a-half years with the club. Injuries and fitness levels were a constant issue for the midfielder who fell out of favour under a succession of managers.

Even more baffling then that Antalyaspor should offer him a three-and-a-half year deal – albeit on a free transfer.

He will join a side that features former Barcelona front-man Samuel Eto’o as its front-man.

A relief for Ian Holloway as this will undoubtedly free up funds for player wages as he reshapes his squad.
