QPR Have “No Excuses” For Defeat In McClaren’s Eyes

|

Queens Park Rangers were looking to get back to winning ways in today’s Championship clash against Preston North End.

Following defeat to Sheffield United in the last match, we welcomed Preston to Loftus Road earlier today for the game, but the visitors took a quick advantage as they made it 1-0 in the 14th minute of the first half.

Preston took full control following the halftime break and added a second with just over 20 minutes remaining in the match. At that point QPR did respond and got a goal back of their own through Matt Smith but it was too little, too late. The visitors added another two goals inside of the final ten minutes to take a comfortable 4-1 victory.

The frustration was we had plenty of chances of our own but didn’t do enough with them and Preston were just more clinical on the day.

Speaking to the media following the game, manager Steve McClaren said of the match.
