John Gorman has poured scorn on suggestions that Jim Magilton head-butted Ákos Buzsáky, and is backing his manager over the incident.

The Scotsman who is number two to Magilton at Loftus Road has denied that there was any physical contact between Buzsáky and the boss.

Speaking to The People he has come out in full support of the Northern Irishman: ‘Jim has done absolutely nothing wrong,’ he said.

Not only did he refrain from making physical contact with Buzsáky, it was Buzsáky who then stormed out of the dressing room. Jim wanted Ákos back in there so it could be sorted out amicably.’

First team coach Keith Ryan has also supported Magilton over the incident, with Steve Gallen and Marc Bircham in charge for tomorrow’s clash against West Bromwich Albion.

Rumours persist about possible replacements for Jim while the internal investigation is ongoing, with Gareth Southgate, Paul Hart, Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink and Darren Ferguson the key candidates.
