Anthony Taylor from Manchester will take charge of Rangers’ televised clash against West Bromwich Albion on Monday.
The young official has proven himself a sensible referee since joining the National List in 2005.
In both his games refereeing QPR and televised fixtures he has proven himself a competent official, and has a bright future ahead of him in the game.
As mentioned he has taken charge of Rangers twice in his short career and these are documented below.
Refereeing Rangers |
Mr Taylor first set eyes on Queens Park Rangers when the R’s travelled down to Southampton under Luigi De Canio in early 2008.
A side built on free-flowing attacking football, they were pegged back in the first minute by Darren Powell before Martin Rowlands equalised over five minutes before half time.
Patrick Agyemang continued his outstanding scoring run by hitting a well-timed brace either side of the break to kill the game as a contest, before Youssef Safri was sent off for a two-footed lunge.
Stern John bagged a consolation into injury time which made for a slightly nervy finish to the encounter, but nothing that the Rangers’ defence didn’t mop up adequately to secure the win.
A year later and QPR welcomed Derby to Loftus Road alongside the back-drop of Rangers trying to charge away supporters £40 for a lofty perch in the upper School End.
In a keenly-fought contest the R’s were dealt the hammer blow ten minutes from time as Martin Albrechtsen bagged the opener.
A bandaged Emmanuel Villa hit the second for the Rams as they continued their positive run at Loftus Road, chanting to the tune of Pigbag: Duh Duh Duh Da – Greedy B*******!.
So far this season Mr Taylor has officiated 17 games dishing out 41 yellows and two reds – that gives him a card rating of 2.53 cards per game.
