McClaren Could Get A Massive Injury Boost Ahead Of Boro Tie

|

A number of Queens Park Rangers fans were dismayed when influential Luke Freeman limped off with minutes remaining in the game against West Bromwich Albion in midweek – down to ten men we lost the momentum we had built and ended up losing the tie 3-2 – but he could be back this weekend for Middlesbrough.

The 26-year-old was a key part of the squad during our better times in the 2018/19 campaign so far, and he will be one of the reasons we get out of our current slump and run of successive losses, so fans naturally feared the worst when he came off early (with all three substitutions used) with a hip problem.

Speaking to the Official Site today with significant worries that Saturday’s trip to the Riverside Stadium to face Tony Pulis’ promotion hopefuls, Middlesbrough, would come too soon, McClaren explained that he was set for a late fitness test and could well play a part.

“Luke isn’t as bad as we first thought so that is encouraging. We are reviewing it today and we will make a late decision on him. But knowing we have Leeds and Brentford coming up we have to be careful.”

Fans will certainly be hoping he passes that test and then we don’t pay for not giving him the weekend off.

Grant Hall, having been rested for the last game, will also undergo a fitness test ahead of the game.

Geoff Cameron and Angel Rangel continue to make progress with their problems, but are still a few weeks away.
