With Queens Park Rangers relishing the confidence boost after victory over high flying Leeds United, predictably we were back down to earth with last weekend’s 3-0 defeat to Brentford. Saturday’s clash with Stoke City was a much needed chance to get back to winning ways and ease the pressure on manager Steve McClaren.

With the Championship season of 2018/19 drawing to a close we are roughly as close to the Play Off spots as we are the relegation zone, so a strong end to the year would certainly be welcomed and set us up for potentially better in 2019/20.

How much of the game will rest on this man?

Ward was in charge for our EFL Cup tie against Peterborough United back in mid-August, and he was also in the middle for the December City Ground tie against Nottingham Forest. Most recently he took charge of the FA Cup tie in late January against Portsmouth.
