Gary Waddock has explained his decision to axe three players signed on loan during the January transfer window.

Only Marcin Kus remains at the club as Waddock sent back Wolves pair Keith Lowe, Leon Clarke and Blackburn defender Andy Taylor after only one start.

Phil Barnes who kept goal at Leeds was only brought in on a one game deal and Kus was not present in Saturday’s win due to injury.

Waddock explained:

‘I want to give the lads that are contracted and committed to the football club a chance to impress.’

‘I didn’t bring the loan players in and I want to look at the players currently in the squad. I will then make up my mind who I want involved with the first-team group.

‘As far as I am aware they [the loan players] have all now returned to their clubs.’
