Former Rangers boss Don Howe is being lined up to work alongside caretake manager Gary Waddock.

Waddock is actively searching for a big name to take over the admin duties which are required from his as the club’s number one.

This would allow Waddock to concentrate on ‘on the field’ matters and allow the new ‘director of football’ to deal with any matters off the field and to provide him with the experience should he need it.

After Saturday’s convincing win, Waddock spoke about his ideas as a manager whilst looking for a helping hand.

?I want someone experienced who I can get on the other end of the phone when I need them,? he said. ?We are speaking to one or two people. Whoever it is, it will be my choice.?

When asked about the rumours that Don Howe was expected to take up the role, Waddock blushed. ?I can?t name any names,? he said.

John Gregory was linked last week and looks unlikely to be approached but Howe and Waddock remain friends and maybe the ideal partnership to blossom under the new reign.
