‘King’, ‘There’s no better than him’ – Many QPR fans in resounding agreement over tweet

Many QPR fans on Twitter are in agreement at one of the easiest questions they are ever likely to be asked.

With the club’s ‘Team of the Decade’ coming up, fans have been asked daily about what players they would want in their ideal team for a 4-4-2 formation. With December 17 being the left-midfield option, it was a pretty easy choice for Rangers fans – considering that it is a 4-4-2 formation rather than one with an attacking midfielder – as a certain Adel Taarabt would most likely slip in there.

The response was pretty much all one-way traffic with Adel Taarabt being mentioned by almost everyone, apart from those who justified putting him somewhere else due to the formation.

Is Adel Taarabt the best player of the decade?

Yes

No

Given the Moroccan’s magic during their Championship winning season, this will not come as a surprise to any fan. The 30-year-old was just 21 when they won the league, and in addition to his incredible 19 goals and 21 assists from 44 Championship games that season, he brought smiles to the fans’ faces through his sheer talent and skill.

Overall, he played 164 games for the club, including 34 goals and 42 assists, undoubtedly making him a modern-day legend at the club.

Where is he now? Well, after being a forgotten man for a long spell he is back playing football for Benfica in the Liga NOS. He has made 18 appearances this term, grabbing one assist.
