“It’s out of my hands” – Important QPR man discusses his future at club – report

|

West Ham United loanee Jordan Hugill has admitted that he doesn’t know what his future holds.

With QPR unable to purchase Nahki Wells in the January transfer window, Hugill has had to take the main stage again – and he’s been doing it well.

So far this season, the striker has scored 13 goals from 36 games, with one assist, making him a very important player for Mark Warburton’s team.

Considering that Hugill joined the Premier League side over two years ago and has only gone onto make three league appearances for the club, it is hard to imagine a long term future with the Hammers, unless they get relegated from the division.

Should we sign Jordan Hugill in the summer?

Yes, for sure

We can do better

The 27-year-old said (via Hammers News): “I think they probably know that I’m out doing my work here. I’m happy with what I’m doing here and I’m totally focused on what’s going on.

“Whatever happens at the end of the season or next season will happen and it’s out of my hands so I’m just doing my job which is ultimately playing well and scoring goals which I’ve been doing.

“I’ve not thought about anything to be honest.”

Obviously, with QPR not having the funds to go after Nahki Wells, they may face it a problem to sign Hugill who is still under contract and is on Premier League wages.

Despite of this, there is still a clear lack of striking options at the club, which means that they might see the signing as a necessary one.

With Rangers unbeaten in five in the league, there is beginning to be a feel-good vibe at the club, and there is no doubt that Hugill has been a huge contribution to that, especially in the last game against Birmingham, where he managed to score one and assist one.

Similarly to Wells, if West Ham are looking to cash in, the R’s could be reminded of the competitive nature of the Championship as many other sides look to find an experienced goalscorer at this level.

If that is the case, then the club might benefit from setting their stall out early to try and agree on a deal; if they don’t, they could risk losing out on the player.
