“Got the potential to be at a better level”: QPR man makes admission over teammate after impressive season

|

Queens Park Rangers full-back Angel Rangel has revealed he loves playing with Bright Osayi-Samuel down the flank and tipped the winger to play at a higher level.

Whilst Eberechi Eze has understandably taken many of the plaudits this season after scoring a mightily impressive 12 goals and providing eight assists from his attacking midfield position, Osayi-Samuel has also been a major threat. The skilful 22-year-old has been extremely productive himself, contributing five goals and eight assists in 29 games.

Such form prompted speculation that West Brom would make a move for the wide man in January, although nothing materialised, with Osayi-Samuel a regular under Mark Warburton since the turn of the year after a mixed start to the season on an individual basis.

Will Bright Osayi-Samuel be a QPR player next season?

Yes

No

And, Rangel is certainly a fan of the player, explaining in an interview with a young Hoops fan what it’s like to work alongside Osayi-Samuel and where his ability can take him.

I love playing with fast wingers in front of me, it makes my life a lot easier. He’s been arguably one of the best players this season. His end product has improved a lot, we know he can beat any defender with his pace, power and quality and he is a joy to play with.

There’s no doubt that he’s got the potential to be at a better level.”

It remains to be seen whether the R’s can keep hold of Eze, who has attracted interest from Tottenham, and Osayi-Samuel but fans will be hoping the duo stay at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium for the years to come. They may not have given up on promotion either, with Warburton’s side just six points away from the play-off places with nine games left to play. That came by after a great recent run prior to this enforced break, with QPR unbeaten in their last six games.
