John Curtis has impressed Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore in his friendly appearance against Liverpool.

Rovers lost the game by a narrow margin, 1-0, courtesy of a first half strike from Israeli international Yossi Benayoun.

A lot of interest focused on full back John Curtis who played the entire 90 minutes for Tranmere, and Ronnie Moore paid tribute to the Ex-Manchester United and QPR full back:

‘John [Curtis] has good experience. He did well, was comfortable on the ball. There’s plenty to work with there.”

Curtis made only 5 appearances for the R`s under John Gregory, before being released in December 2007. He has since trained with Preston North End, but has been on the lookout for a club for some time.

The Nuneaton born defender will have further chances to impress against West Cheshire League outfit Heswall, before away trips to Marine, Southport and Morecambe. Rovers round off pre-season with home games against Bolton Wanderers and Blackpool.
