PETER Crouch has been linked with a return to his boyhood club and favourite manager as the window ticks down.

The 31-year-old England international forward has courted the interest of Harry Redknapp – for what would another in a stringe of reuinions for the pairing.

A striker that grew up supporting QPR, he was brought back to the club by Gerry Francis after several successful trial games, including a fixture against Brentford at Griffin Park.

Despite his ten goals, he couldn’t stop QPR dropping into the then Division Two and moved onto Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Southampton, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur before his current club, Stoke City.

He also had a loan spell with Saturday’s opponents Norwich City, with Jamie Mackie proving a possible makeway for the forward to come to W12 during this window.

Time is ticking for Harry to capture his man, and rumours were rife that a deal could be close to fruition with Mackie missing out on the 0-0 draw with Manchester City yesterday (Tuesday) evening.

Rangers will now see if their efforts in re-recruiting the man-mountain forward yield the desired results.
