SHEFFIELD United boss Nigel Clough maintains a win over Queens Park Rangers would be a ‘major upset’

The former Derby County boss takes his side to Loftus Road this weekend in the knowledge of Rangers’ dismal FA Cup record.

He maintains however that Rangers are at a massive advantage in the build up to Sunday’s encounter.

‘Regardless of any changes, the starting eleven Harry Redknapp puts out against us is a Premier League team,’ Clough told sufc.co.uk

‘Even if they make wholesale changes from the Swansea game I don’t think it makes our task any easier because then you are facing players who are fresh and with a point to prove.

‘If anything, it arguably makes our life tougher.’

Rangers may be hampered by the fact they have only two wins in the last 13 years in this competition – both coming as a result of a replay (MK Dons & West Bromwich Albion).

The Blades have already beaten West Ham United and Southampton in this year’s Capital One Cup as they currently occupy a playoff place in League One.

The last time the two sides met Rangers did the double over the Blades, winning 3-0 on both occasions as they achieved promotion under former Sheffield United boss, Neil Warnock.
