Charlie Austin has taken to social media to say that he’s not looking to move anywhere in the immediate term

The Premier League Player of the Month for December has been the subject of much media speculation of late, with contract discussions ongoing, but Austin has said he would rather concentrate on his football.

He wrote on his Sport Lobster blog that he’s in no hurry to go anywhere and he’s happy at Loftus Road.

‘I know some things have been written and said about my contract situation,’ he said.

‘I’ve got 18 months left on my contract, I’m in no rush. I’m leaving that stuff to my agent and the people at the club, and I’m just thinking about my performances on the pitch.

‘The most important thing for you to know is that I’m not thinking about looking elsewhere. I want you all to know I’m happy at QPR.’

Austin is the highest English goal-scorer in the Premier League with 13 goals. He will be hoping to add to his tally as he faces Manchester United this weekend.

On the game he added: ‘I am hoping to see not just a response from last week’s defeat, but also a response to what happened at their place when we lost 4-0.’

While supporters will be happy to hear that Austin is happy at Rangers, there is no question he is an ambitious individual who will have one eye on the next level.

The QPR striker is one of the country’s hottest properties and with 18-months to run on his current deal, fans will hope that he will extend his stay in W12.
