QUEENS Park Rangers have moved to sign young forward Tom Hitchcock

The son of current QPR coach Kevin Hitchcock, the forward signs for the R’s on a free following his release from Blackburn Rovers in January.

He started his career at Watford before signing for Rovers at the age of 12. He had a brief spell on loan at League Two strugglers Plymouth Argyle before his January release.

He told QPR.co.uk: ‘I’m delighted to have another chance at a Premier League Football Club.

‘I’m looking forward to it. It’s good times for QPR and the Club’s going in the right direction. There is a lot of promise here.

‘Birch (Youth Development Assistant Manager, Marc Bircham) has been helping me every day in training and has been great with me.

‘I’ve fitted in really well with the lads. There are some good players here.’

Following a successful trial period the young forward will be with the club at least until the end of the season.
