Key Player:

Liam Lawrence: The dynamic midfielder has been arguably Pompey`s best player this season which isn`t the hardest of tasks given the sheer size of their squad. The former Stoke City man has been in excellent form this season scoring 6 goals in 12 appearances. The Irish international has been the driving force behind Portsmouth`s ascent up the table. Lawrence started his career at Mansfield making 135 appearances and scored 35 goals before then Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy signed Lawrence in a deal worth £175,000. Lawrence made 73 appearances for the Black Cats scoring 10 times before moving to Stoke on loan and after impressing The Potters made the deal permanent for £500,000. He represented Stoke 105 times and scored 21 goals before joining Portsmouth this summer on an emergency loan after his proposed transfer was not completed before the deadline.
