Vital QPR takes a look at the players plying their trade away from Loftus Road.

Watford travelled to Crystal Palace in a bid to extend a positive run of results, but they didn’t account for the Eagles racing out of the blocks.

Heidar Helguson started for the Hornets alongside Danny Graham, but they barely got a touch of the ball before Victor Moses opened the scoring for the hosts.

Malky Mackay’s men should have been shocked into life by the opener, but in truth they remain shell-shocked as Alan Lee doubled the lead shortly after the five-minute mark.

On the stroke of half time Alan Lee clipped Henri Lansbury in the area, but Danny Graham was thwarted from the spot by the impressive Julian Speroni.

It proved to be a defining moment as Darren Ambrose continued a fine run of form to strike home Palace’s third before the hour mark.

Helguson was replaced by Liam Henderson with five minutes remaining as the Hornets drop down to ninth.

Meanwhile Salisbury City hosted Blue Square Premier title hopefuls Stevenage Borough, and with Oxford United in FA Cup action it was an ideal chance for the visitors to assert their advantage.

Lee Brown and Joe Oastler were both re-instated after being dropped to the bench by Tommy Widdrington.

Former Whites striker Charlie Griffin opened the scoring on the stroke of half time at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium as Salisbury had that sinking feeling.

Their lack of discipline in recent games was epitomised when defender Chris Todd was sent off for a second bookable offence with little under 15 minutes remaining.

More importantly for Salisbury their lack of funds and transfer embargo means they were only able to field three substitutes, and with Todd suspended, that number could be cut down for the next clash.

They were unable to beat Chris Day in the Stevenage goal in what was a deserved victory for the visitors on the balance of play.

Gareth Ainsworth wasn’t in action this weekend owing to Wycombe’s earlier cup exit, while Hogan Ephraim is not eligible to feature for Leeds against Kettering Town today.
