Oliver Langford will take charge of Queens Park Rangers’ Thursday night clash with high-flying Reading.

Teams: Reading v Queens Park Rangers
Competition: Football League Championship
Date: Thursday 12th January 2017

Assistant: Steven Meredith (Nottinghamshire)
Assistant: Nick Hopton (Derbyshire)
Fourth Official: Andy Woolmer (Northamptonshire)

Mr Langford from the West Midlands was promoted to the National List of Referees in 2008 before joining the Select Group 2 in the summer of 2016.

He will be assisted by Steven Meredith (Nottinghamshire) and Nick Hopton (Derbyshire) with Andy Woolmer (Northamptonshire) on fourth official duties – here’s to hoping there’s no injuries then.

Meredith ran the line in opening day win over Leeds United (3-0) – where Langford was officiating – and also in the 0-2 home defeat to Preston North End. Hopton meanwhile was linesman in the defeat at Huddersfield Town (1-2).

Fourth official Woolmer has a long protracted history with Queens Park Rangers, but has met Rangers only once this season in the 0-3 defeat at Ipswich Town.

Mr Langford has dished out 83 yellow cards in 26 games, which is quite a jump in terms of last season’s fixtures. He averages of 3.19 yellow cards per game – He also gave out five red cards in the space of six games.
