Tim Robinson from West Sussex will take charge of Queens Park Rangers’ trip to high-flying Newcastle United

It’s Mr Robinson once more this season – a second meeting between he and QPR but third overall. He is a referee that is no stranger to his pocket – handing out cards like confetti this campaign.

Thus far this season he has dished out 118 yellow cards in 25 matches – giving him a stunning average of 4.72 cards per game – not to mention the seven Championship reds this term. That includes sending off Gillingham pair Paul Konchesky and Bradley Dack in their defeat at Millwall.

Against Wolves he will be assisted by David Avent (Northamptonshire) and Chris Akers (South Yorkshire) with Select Group 2 referee Peter Bankes (Merseyside) the fourth official.

Mr Avent has run the line in a defeats away at Barnsley (2-3) and Rotherham United (0-1) as well as a home draw with Reading (1-1). Mr Akers meanwhile ran the line away at Huddersfield Town (1-2). Fourth official Mr Bankes refereed Rangers in their League Cup defeat against Sunderland (1-2)
