Geoff Eltringham from Tyne & Wear will take charge of the televised clash between Derby County and Queens Park Rangers

Competition: Football League Championship
Date: Friday 31st March 2017

Assistant: James Mainwaring (Lancashire)
Assistant: Billy Smallwood (Cheshire)
Fourth Official: Chris Kavanagh (Lancashire)

This is our third meeting with referee Mr Eltringham this season, he’s overseen defeats at home to Aston Villa and Burton Albion this term, the latter a hastily and ill-advised rearrangement on an FA Cup weekend. He joined the National List of Referees in 2009 before eventually worked his way through the ranks and joined the newly formed Select Group 2 this year.

Thus far this season he has dished out 98 yellow cards in 34 matches, giving him a very modest average of 2.88 cards per game. He has however issued five reds this term.

Against the Brewers he will be assisted by James Mainwaring (Lancashire) and Billy Smallwood (Cheshire) with Chris Kavanagh (Lancashire) on fourth official duties.

Smallwood ran the line for fourth official Kavanagh in a slender defeat to Sheffield Wendesday earlier in the season (0-1) while Mainwaring is yet to be involved in a QPR clash this season. Fourth official Kavanagh took the aforementioned Owls defeat as well as a win up at Wigan Athletic earlier on this campaign (1-0).
