Keith Stroud from Hampshire will be the man in the middle as QPR travel to Brighton & Hove Albion

Teams: Brighton & Hove Albion v Queens Park Rangers
Competition: Football League Championship
Date: Tuesday 27th December 2016

Assistant: Derek Eaton (Gloucestershire)
Assistant: Mark Pottage (Dorset)
Fourth Official: James Linington (Isle of Wight)

Mr Stroud started his refereeing career in 1988 before progressing into the football league in 2000 as an assistant referee. He then subsequently joined the referee’s list in 2002.

He was promoted to the national list of referees in 2004 and also was appointed a FIFA assistant in the same year. Mr Stroud has also spent time a Premier League official.

The official has taken charge of QPR twice already this season – in the home draw with Blackburn Rovers (1-1) and the away day card festival that was Nottingham Forest in Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s last game in charge, sending off a player from either side in an otherwise non-eventful game.

He has been fourth official for Rangers away wins over Cardiff City (2-0) and Fulham (2-1) and a home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers (1-2).

He will be assisted by Derek Eaton (Gloucestershire) and Mark Pottage (Dorset) with fellow referee James Linington (Isle of Wight) on fourth official duties. It will be the first time that Eaton has overseen a QPR game this season, while Pottage ran the line for Mr Stroud in the aforementioned Blackburn draw.

Fourth official Mr Linington took charge of Rangers win at Cardiff – as touched upon above – while also acted as fourth official more recently in QPR’s home defeat to Derby County (0-1).

Mr Stroud has improved on an already ridiculous card average for the season making him one of the most prolific card merchants in the division this season – a mere 24 games have passed with 116 yellow cards being handed out – an average of 4.83 cards per game. Eight red cards have also been dished out.
