Teams: Blackburn Rovers v Queens Park Rangers
Competition: SkyBet Championship
Date: Saturday 4th February 2017

Assistant: Tony Peart (North Yorkshire)

Harrington joined the National List of Referees in 2012 and has now since joined the Select Group 2. This is the third time he will take charge of QPR this season – firstly the EFL Cup win over Swindon Town. Rangers needed penalties to overcome their League One opposition. This came before a recent home win over Ipswich Town – Pawel Wszolek’s goal edging out the Tractor Boys.

He will be assisted by Tony Peart (North Yorkshire) and Nick Hopton (Derbyshire) with Scott Duncan (Northumberland) on fourth official dutues.

Peart ran the line in Rangers’ slender win over Wigan Athletic (1-0) and defeat at Rotherham United (0-1) while Hopton assisted in a defeat away at Huddersfield Town (1-2), but also a win over Reading (1-0). Fourth official Duncan has refereed two QPR games this season – a draw at Burton Albion (1-1) and a win in Ian Holloway’s first game in charge against Norwich City (2-1).

Thus far this campaign Harrington has dished out 91 yellow cards in 23 games – bringing down his card average when we last met from 4.63 cards per game to 3.95. He has also sent off two players this term – Fulham’s Michael Madl and Birmingham City’s Jonathan Spector.
