Adel Taarabt’s stomach problems have not improved and he has not trained at all this week. The scan which was suggested as happening on Tuesday did not, apparently, take place. Instead, Taarabt has been resting.

However, a scan is set for this coming Monday, should he continue to suffer. Warnock told the Ealing Gazette:‘It may just be a little strain, but we may need a scan to appease his mind. We don’t know what it is, though, it’s just a pain in his stomach.’

The worry is that Wayne Routledge did not train today either – because of a sore ankle. It was apparently a precaution but, in light of the appalling state of Scunthorpe’s notorious pitch, it’s possible that Warnock will not play Routledge – bearing in mind we have to go back up north on Tuesday evening to face Barnsley.

I guess that, if Taarabt doesn’t play, his able deputy at Doncaster, Hogan Ephraim, will resume his role. But is there an argument for including Akos Buzsaky from the start?

Well, whoever plays, I’m glad it’s not me who has to make the decision – Warnock’s doing a superb job so I’ll leave it all up to him!
