Millwall, like their fellow promotees Leeds United, are now able to put years of toil and struggle behind them as they finally ascend back to the Championship.
Victories over Swindon Town not only secured their playoff place, but also their Championship status as former QPR man Kenny Jackett saw the Lions to promotion.
This is a very different test for his side, with the standard of play ramping up somewhat and effort alone will not be sufficient against some of the more experienced sides at this level.
Prediction: 20
Millwall desperately need a good start to the campaign if they are to retain their Championship status this season, and in my opinion are destined to spend the season fighting against the drop.
The effort, desire and commitment should see them through if they can get runs together at the right time of the season, but they lack the depth and talent in their squad to challenge higher.
Both they and Crystal Palace will be tussling at the foot of the table, but the Lions should have enough to stay in the division if they retain the same commitment applied to previous campaigns.
